Freddy always remember when traveling tour to Saigon, Cambodia. When engrossed in eating, he visited with friends and a mother. Initially, Freddy did not understand the intent of the mother. Moreover, the mother could not speak English. Apparently, the mother asked for money to Freddy.
"He was a beggar. Yes, finally refused to love to use hand signals only. Then he moved to the next table, "the story of Freddy.
Travel to developing countries, as well as traveling to various regions in Indonesia, street children and beggars become a common sight. Tourists often plagued with beggars. Moreover, the beggar who asks by way of force.
In countries such as India, Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines, including Indonesia, beggars age children were easily found. Often included in these beggars begging syndicates.
Some beggars are also implementing a request to force or threatening. Similar events can be found also in other developing countries, not only in Indonesia.
We recommend that you do not give money to beggars. If you really want to help, vent your help foundations or organizations that focus on providing assistance to street children.

Do not drive away.
If dealing with beggars and street singers, do not expel or rude. Keep watch civility. Simply refusing to shake his head and raised her palms as a sign of decline.
If you still insist, has consistently rejected but not rude. Simply say "sorry" or "no" sternly.

Feed.
Give the beggar is fine stuff. Especially if the beggar children, providing better goods than money. Therefore, many beggar children who are part of the syndicate.
Money they receive in the end for the elderly or the chairman of the syndicate. Items can be given T-shirts or umbrellas when the rain if they beg.
But still look-see situation, because sometimes the child can be subject to squawk if they receive the goods and instead of getting money. If you want to give food, make sure it's not the rest. Order a new food for the beggar.

Traders are not beggars.
Not just a beggar, sometimes souvenirs and food vendors selling wares aggressively. Traders age children are often forced to sell to tourists do not have the heart.
I have seen domestic tourists when traveling to areas in Nusa Tenggara giving away money to children who are hawking souvenirs. He did not pick up the purchased merchandise because it considers do not require the goods.
Predictably, the child was getting the money but the joy is still intact and merchandise can be sold to someone else. On another occasion, I found a similar incident back during a visit to an area on the island of Sumatra.
The difference is, the child refused the gift of tourists. He forced the tourists to take his wares. Because, if he took the money but the buyer did not pick up the purchased item, it means he is a beggar. He did not want to be likened to beggars.

If you find a case like this, buy their merchandise. Do not give away free money because this will only teach them to be a beggar.
